Institutional Capital

Built for the long horizon.

Institutional capital asks different questions than individual capital. Our discipline is built to answer them.

Woodard & Company provides investment management services to endowments, foundations, pension and profit-sharing plans, and other institutional portfolios. Our team-based process, in which investment decisions are made by a committee rather than by any single advisor, is particularly well suited to the oversight requirements and long time horizons that institutional portfolios demand.

Joan Woodard, our Chief Financial Officer and a Certified Public Accountant, leads the design and implementation of 401(k), pension, and profit-sharing plans, along with general counsel on the tax considerations that attend institutional assets.

A well-designed retirement plan is one of the most consequential benefits a company can offer, and getting it right matters for every participant who depends on it. We work closely with plan sponsors on plan design, investment lineup, fiduciary governance, and participant education, and we treat the responsibility with the seriousness it deserves. Strong plan relationships often extend naturally into the personal planning and investment needs of the owners, executives, and employees of the sponsoring firm.

Our wealth management advisors work closely with boards, investment committees, and trustees to ensure that each institution’s portfolio reflects the objectives laid out in its policy statement. For most institutional relationships, we serve as the fiduciaryFiduciaryA person or firm legally required to place the interests of its clients above its own at all times. A fiduciary must disclose conflicts of interest and recommend only what is in the client’s best interest.Close × investment advisor of record, responsible for both the strategy and its day-to-day execution.
