Throughout the year, Woodard & Company hosts educational events, seminars, and client gatherings. A partial calendar is kept below, clients receive direct invitations to all firm events.
We have always believed that an informed client is a better client, for themselves and for the firm. Our educational events are built on that premise.
Each year the firm offers a rotating schedule of three library-based seminars across the Triad. Each seminar is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. Please join us, and please bring a friend.
The foundational investing seminar. A conversation about what the financial industry has made needlessly complicated.
Wealth Unlocked is designed as a conversation, not a lecture. It covers how markets actually work, the power of compounding, portfolio construction basics, the difference between fee-onlyFee-OnlyA firm compensated exclusively by its clients through agreed-upon advisory fees. Fee-only advisors accept no commissions, revenue-sharing, or soft-dollar arrangements from product providers.Close × fiduciaryFiduciaryA person or firm legally required to place the interests of its clients above its own at all times. A fiduciary must disclose conflicts of interest and recommend only what is in the client’s best interest.Close × advice and commission-based sales, understanding the fees that quietly drag on long-term returns, the interplay of equity and fixed income in a diversified portfolio, and the common behavioral mistakes that cost investors the most.
The session offers context, not a sales pitch. Our fee-only fiduciary model is discussed as a point of contrast with the commission-based alternative, so that attendees can evaluate their own arrangements with clarity.
The forward-looking seminar. For those who want to think beyond their own retirement, and build for what comes after.
Legacy Builders is designed for the generation that is both actively accumulating wealth and preparing to inherit the largest generational transfer in American history. The session covers the mechanics of compounding over long time horizons, tax-advantaged account strategy across 401(k), Roth IRA, HSA, and backdoor Roth contributions, what a fiduciary advisor actually does (and when to hire one), building a diversified portfolio from scratch, the fundamentals of estate planning and beneficiary designations, and the habits that actually build and preserve wealth across generations.
This session ties directly to our podcast, The Generational Investors, and is the most naturally forward-looking of the three. We would be glad to have you.
The flagship seminar. Designed for those within fifteen years of retirement, or already in it.
The content moves attendees from the anxiety that often surrounds retirement income into the clarity of a concrete plan. The session covers comprehensive financial planning, cash flow and budgeting, goal-setting, Social Security optimization, tax efficiency, Roth conversion strategy, income planning and withdrawal sequencing across taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free accounts, portfolio construction for income and longevity, healthcare and Medicare basics, and estate and legacy planning.
The session closes with the opportunity to schedule a complimentary portfolio review with our team.
A 5K race and one-mile fun run benefiting Brenner Children’s Hospital.
Woodard & Company is organizing a new community event for Spring 2027: a 5K and one-mile fun run, with all proceeds benefiting Brenner Children’s Hospital.
The Woodard family served as Co-Chairs of the 2025 Cheers! event benefiting Brenner, and this race is a natural extension of that partnership. Registration details, course map, and sponsorship opportunities will be published as the event approaches.

A Woodard & Company series, organized by Joan Woodard, built to empower women to take greater ownership of their finances, and of their lives.
Women Talk Money is a firm initiative organized by Joan Woodard, Chief Financial Officer of Woodard & Company. Its purpose is to help women take control of their financial lives, and their broader personal lives, with greater confidence, clarity, and independence. The emphasis is on building strength and awareness in the areas that affect both financial decision-making and life decision-making. The spirit of the event is educational, encouraging, and confidence-building, rather than overly technical or sales-oriented.
The series is intentionally broader than a typical market seminar. Each session brings together a panel of accomplished women from a range of professional backgrounds, so that attendees hear practical perspectives on money, planning, confidence, decision-making, and life transitions from several angles at once. The format is approachable, the tone is conversational, and the emphasis throughout is on real-world insight rather than lecture.
Women Talk Money is not a one-off event. It is a series, held on an ongoing basis, and open to clients, friends of the firm, and anyone in the community who would benefit from the conversation.
Upcoming session dates and registration details are announced through the firm and by direct invitation. To be notified of the next session, please request an introduction →
We record our seminars and post them here, so those who cannot attend in person do not miss the content.
Each of our three seminars, Wealth Unlocked, Legacy Builders, and Retirement Mastery, is recorded at its live session and made available afterward as an on-demand webinar. The format is the same as attending in person: the same content, the same presenters, and the same closing opportunity to schedule a conversation. The archive is updated after each session airs.
The archive is currently in development and will be linked here as soon as the first recorded session is posted. To be notified when new webinars are added, request an introduction →
